Thanks to the public’s input and several months of hard work by our local steering committee, the results of Montevallo’s strategic planning efforts will be revealed on Tuesday, June 26th, 6 PM, at Parnell Memorial Library. The results of this plan will be used as the basis for Montevallo’s updated Comprehensive Plan, which is expected to be completed before the end of the year. We encourage everyone to attend the meeting Tuesday night, especially members of our City Council, Planning Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Montevallo Main Street program, Historical Commission, property owners, residents, and other community stakeholders. See you then.

Our city is beginning the five-year update to our Comprehensive Plan.
The first step in this work will be an illustrative strategic plan.
We need your input to help shape a plan that’s right for Montevallo.
The meeting will be facilitated by
Cheryl Morgan, Emerita Director of the Auburn University Urban Studio in Birmingham. She will be asking you about the assets of our community as well as our history, our native sons and daughters, our churches, our businesses, our parks:
the things that make Montevallo a special place.
What are your dreams and aspirations for our community?
What will make a difference in the future of Montevallo?
Your input will be incorporated into the illustrative master plan studies that are then folded into the update to our Comprehensive Plan.
Our goal is to identify strategies that can help our entire community to continue to thrive and prosper as we build the highest quality of life in Montevallo.
