November 15th is America Recycles Day.
America Recycles
Day, a
program of Keep America
Beautiful,
is a nationally-recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling
in the United States and a time for Montevallo to highlight where and how to recycle
in our community.
This is a celebration to learn about recycling, sustainability, and ways to take care of our environment. City of Montevallo’s Sustainability Division will have information and giveaways for those who attend any of the following:
1. Community Clean Up: November 14th 8am-10am
a. A naturally Socially Distant and Socially Good family friendly event! Meet at Orr Park. The City will provide gloves, and bags!
2. Recycled Bench Ribbon Cutting: November 19th at 3pm
a. Donated to a sustainable Montevallo for its exceptional recycling efforts. Montevallo residents recycled 500lbs of plastic film, or 40,500 bags, in less than 6 months to be awarded this bench.
3. Document Shredding and Adoptable Pets: November 21st 10am-2pm
a. 6 boxes per resident and NO commercial use.

As always, we have donation
bins, electronic recycling, plastic film recycling, and regular household waste
recycling!
