34th Annual Arbor Day Celebration!

Join the community for a local tradition as the Montevallo Arbor and Beautification Board hosts the 34th annual Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, February 28, 2026. This free event is a hallmark of the "Montevallo Tree City Experience," celebrating the city's long-standing status as a Tree City USA community.


Event Details
When: Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (or until supplies run out).
Where: Montevallo Recycling Center, 1120 Overland Road, Montevallo, AL 35115.
Admission: Free and open to the public.

Free Tree Seedlings
Attendees can select from a wide variety of free bare root tree seedlings distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Available species for this year’s celebration are expected to include:
Flowering & Ornamental: Kousa Dogwood, Roughleaf Dogwood, and Ginkgo Biloba.
Shade & Canopy: Red Maple, White Oak, American Elm, and Sycamore.
Evergreens & Water-Loving: Eastern Red Cedar, River Birch, and Bald Cypress.

Grow Your Own Canopy: By planting these seedlings, you directly contribute to expanding Montevallo's urban canopy and preserving the city's natural beauty for future generations.
Expert Advice: Meet with members of the Arbor and Beautification Board who are dedicated to the environmental stewardship and sustainability of the city.
Community Tradition: This staple event has grown over more than three decades, often attracting visitors from throughout the region to participate in its welcoming atmosphere.
Seedlings will be available at tables set up outside the Recycling Center (under tents if necessary). Because supplies are limited and the event ends early if they run out, arriving early is highly recommended.
